The walk between the Brimhall and the HFAC can be bone chilling when
it's the dead of winter in Provo. When the snow is falling and you're
starting to lose sense of your fingertips, it's time to warm yourself up
with a hot cup of soup. Thankfully, there are several dining places on
campus that offer hot soups to keep your body moving in the winter
Blue Line Deli: The Blue
Line Deli in the Tanner building offers several different kinds of hot
soup every day. Some of the soups you can find are Chicken Cheese
Tortilla Soup, Chili, Loaded Baked Potato Soup, Tuscan White Bean Soup,
Clam Chowder, Chicken Butter Squash Soup and several others. No matter
what your preferred soup is, there's a variety to choose from. If you
need something more substantial, have your soup with the sandwich of the
day or something from the market section.
If you don't have much time, run through the Cougar Express or the
Grab-and-Go during lunch hours. You can get your soup in an insulated
cup with a lid for the times you just need to, well, grab and go!
L&T: Pair your soup with a salad or wrap at L&T. Or just have a cup of Broccoli and Cheese Soup with a whole-wheat roll.
Museum of Art Café: The
MOA café always has a savory soup of the day. Have your bowl of soup
with a hunk of baguette or Focaccia bread to complete your meal. In
January, be sure to try the soup of the month, Mexicali Tortilla Soup.
Sugar n' Spice:
Nothing compliments a cup of soup better than a fresh baked loaf of
bread from Sugar n' Spice. It's also handy to get your meal in the same
place you get your dessert. Warm up with soup and then cool down with
some ice cream.
Nothing is better than the feeling of warmth in your stomach after a
long day of class and studying. So enjoy the soups on campus and best of
luck with fighting the cold during the winter semester.
